Day 7: Stretch yourself a little and try something new.
I'm offering some totally new fandoms in the Chocolate Box exchange... The low required wordcount made it feel easier to dip a toe in.
Day 6: create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive
1. Constructive criticism! I always want to improve my writing, but I don't always know how best to do that. One of the ways has been to get constructive criticism & feedback from others--usually these days that's from beta readers, but I'm open to it from anybody.
So if you ever have any constructive criticism about my stories, please don't hesitate! Can be in a journal comment, or a comment on the story itself, or if you'd rather it could be private, like a Dreamwidth message, or an email (dorindafandom@gmail.com).
We don't have to agree (e.g., someone wanted me to chapterize my Gimli/Legolas story, and while I see where they're coming from, I've been unable to find good chapter breaks to retrofit it with, especially since it was written as one unified piece rather than having chapter-style rhythms), but I'm willing to hear it!
2. Icons! I used to have Photoshop, and while I wasn't talented, I did have the basic ability to crop and sharpen an image I wanted to use as a DW icon. But these days Photoshop is subscription and I don't have it, and I haven't really learned my way around Gimp. Plus just in general I don't have much in the way of visual aesthetic skills.
But I'm badly in need of an icon refresh and expansion. Anything for any of the interests in my profile or that I've written on AO3 (![[archiveofourown.org profile]](https://p.dreamwidth.org/b164c54b26e4/-/archiveofourown.org/favicon.ico)
dorinda), perhaps especially The Exorcist (TV) (Marcus, Marcus/Tomas, Marcus/Peter), Master & Commander (Jack/Stephen), Star Trek TOS (K/S), Invisible Man (the early 2000s TV show)(Darien, Bobby, Darien/Bobby), Black Sails (esp. Flint), Ocean's 11 (Danny/Rusty), Lord of the Rings, Sherlock Holmes (ACD or Granada), MASH (esp. Hawkeye, Hawkeye/Trapper, Sidney Freedman), Bruce Banner (MCU).
3. A story or treat in any of my fandoms! If you ever have the urge to write in any of my fandoms (see above re: profile and AO3), and wondering, you know, would Dorinda enjoy a story or treat or ficlet or piece of art right out of the blue for no reason?
