Vividcon seemed to go pretty well this year. :)

I came home with a case of the Con Crud, and could only take one day off because of work piling up. :(

The weekend is here at last, and I can sleep in. :)

I have a serious case of the Tragedy Of The Commons, in which every shared resource I had to use today is being misused and ruined by idiots. This has resulted in a spiking outbreak of Misanthropy. >:(

I am getting the hang of my Assassin's Creed videogame (I'm up to "Assassin's Creed: Revelations"), in which I can stabbinate a whole lotta people and look great doing it. *stabbity* :)

I had PROFOUNDLY IRRITATING bureaucratic encounters at both work and home, in which no matter how you try to resist you still just get the runaround and then the shaft. :(

My boss had some kind words for my hard work. :)

A researcher was provided with the wrong film, and watched the whole thing before I discovered it was a different item with the same title. :(

The wrong film she watched turned out to be an extremely explicit pornographic cartoon from the 1920s. D: D: D:

In response to my abject apologies, she said it was amusing and didn't bother her. :D

I have learned a lot today about a famous extremely explicit pornographic cartoon from the 1920s that it turns out we have in our collections. O____o

Now I am going to drink a glass of orange juice. P:

I'm sorry you had to work through most of a week with the con crud! But that film mixup sounds -- after the fact, when you know no one was offended or terribly inconvenienced -- hilarious.

Good heavens did we laugh, once it was clear everything was okay. Because OKAY WOW, hello. It was especially funny that she just quietly finished watching it and then amiably moved on to ask for her other items--I only discovered what she'd seen when I took a look at it to find out what it was, since she had just told me, oh, that wasn't the Marian Davies "Buried Treasure", that was animation. So I sat down and took a look and GREAT GOOGLY-MOOGLY.

Thanks! I'm sure I will. I mean, I'm feeling better already, and it's not a bad cold as these things go. I got plenty of sleep last night, which I always find a crucial help!

Thanks--I think plenty of sleep and some nice quiet alonetime working on my Haven story will help with both things. This cold is much lighter on my system than the last time I was sick, for sure. I'm already through to the cough stage, which is the last, so we'll see how soon I can kick that, or at least get it down to minimal levels.

I was glad too! Because it is a really completely explicit thing. It's the story of a little nude man with a GIANT DONG who runs around...you know. Donging things. He meets a woman on a beach, he 'swordfights' (ahem) a Mexican with a similarly huge member over who gets to screw an amorous donkey, he gets it stuck in a guy's behind and then runs off with it unspooling like fishing line, etc. etc. And at the end there are a couple of unrelated but similar shorts, one of which is a parody of Felix the Cat (or possibly Krazy Kat?) and Ignatz the Mouse (Ignatz tops).

It frankly cracks me up that the researcher didn't call me over partway through and say, you know, "Excuse me, but this Marian Davies silent film I ordered seems to be FULL OF CARTOON PEEN."

Yeah, seriously! I was a very lucky person... there are definitely MANY worse researchers to whom this could have happened. :-O
