The "rez accent"

I have my DW reading page subscribed to the RSS feeds for some blogs and whatnot, which is very handy. (And recommended! It brings various readables all to one central place so I can wallow in them.)
The languagehat linguistics blog (dw's rss feed page is https://languagehat-feed.dreamwidth.org/) linked today to a great article on Voice of America about the "rez accent" (Native American English), and some of its linguistic characteristics. Really interesting, and with some links to video as well.
I'm linking via languagehat because on that blog, unlike so many other places, the comments are worth reading!

Date: 2022-12-01 12:01 am (UTC)Have I tried looking it up in the DW FAQ? No, of course not, how dare you assume I'd be rational. :D

Date: 2022-12-01 12:12 am (UTC)Go to the works page for the fandom you're interested in. In the top right hand corner, you'll see the 'RSS Feed' button. Right Click on it and 'Copy Link.' Basically, you're fetching the number assigned to that fandom by AO3.
Go to your profile page. Under the 'Read' dropdown list, click 'Feeds.'
Under 'Add Feed' paste your 'copy link' into the Feed URL: box. Hit the Add Feed button. IF someone else has made a feed already for it, that'll pop up and you just subscribe.
If no one's created a feed for it, the next page will say 'Create Feed Account.' Come up with a name for it you can easily identify if you want to sort through your feeds later, and hit the Create Feed Account button. Subscribe.
Presto! It'll now throw any new story up on your reading list.

Date: 2022-12-01 12:32 am (UTC)I want to be able to potentially check out any new story I see but it's far too time consuming to check them regularly on AO3 for very little payoff.
